Women's Reservation Bill 2023

Delimitation and Janaganana clause are two of the key provisions of the Women's Reservation Bill 2023, which seeks to reserve 33% of seats in the Lok Sabha and all state legislative assemblies for women.

Delimitation is the process of redrawing electoral constituency boundaries. The Women's Reservation Bill 2023 proposes to reserve at least one seat for women in each parliamentary constituency and legislative assembly constituency after delimitation. This means that there will be at least one woman MP from each Lok Sabha constituency and at least one woman MLA from each state assembly constituency.
