Gorky on paradise

Maxim Gorky argues that the  concept of paradise is a crass fiction, or a crude lie, invented by the powerful to keep the poor in line. The idea of paradise is a way to distract the poor from the harsh realities of their lives on earth. The dream of paradise can make the poor less likely to fight for a better life on earth.

His argument is based on the idea that the rich and powerful have a vested interest in keeping the poor down. They do this by controlling the means of production, the distribution of wealth, and the political system. They also control the way people think about the world, including the idea of paradise.

 The idea of paradise is a way to keep the poor from demanding a better life on earth. If the poor believe that they will be rewarded in paradise for their suffering on earth, they are less likely to fight for change. They are also less likely to be envious of the rich, who they believe will be punished in hell.

Gorky's argument is a powerful one, and it is still relevant today. The rich and powerful still control the world, and they still use their power to keep the poor down. The idea of paradise is one of the tools they use to do this.

However,  Bourgeoies propagate that the concept of paradise is a genuine hope for a better life after death.
